A Reno man faces an arson charge after he allegedly started a two-acre fire near Stampede Reservoir early Sunday morning.

Sierra County deputies say they responded to the area just before 3:30 a.m. along with Tahoe National Forest, Sierra County Fire, and two dozers.

The fire, located in a remote area on Merrill Peak, north of Stampede Reservoir, was primarily burning through thick brush and timber.
