Fire and Safety Officials Advise Against Using Flagged LED Mirrors | VOCM

Fire and safety officials are recommending not to use a type of LED bathroom mirror.

UL Solutions says the Homcom mirrors have an unauthorized certification mark for the U.S. and Canada.

They say the product was not evaluated to the appropriate safety standards, and as a result they say it’s “unknown if the mirrors comply with any safety requirements.”

St. John’s fire officials issued an advisory about the product today, citing a memo from UL Solutions dated two weeks ago, on Oct. 15.

The mirrors in question were distributed by Aosom but may also be available in other online and retail stores.

They are identified by model: MA6804 (834-027).
