Man arrested in connection with setting brush fire in Milford - masslive.com

Milford police arrested a Boston man Saturday morning in connection with setting a brush fire just a day after the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a red flag wildfire risk warning for Massachusetts.

Dorchester resident Devonte Johnson, 28, has been charged with setting an open fire, starting a fire on another’s property, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, Milford police said in a press release.

The brush fire damaged town lands in a wooded area of 296 West St., police said. Callers began reporting the brush fire to 911 shortly after 8:45 a.m.
